The One Photo Project ’15

One photo, different meanings.

Just now, I’ve come up with a bright idea which most people with blogs have come up with as well. I’ll be posting a blog post with one photo to back up my story, and pretty much that’s it. Let’s see how far will this project will fare in the future.

So for now, let me leave you guys with this image to inspire you. ❤

How To: Make a 2-minute Nutella Mug Cake using your microwave!

Hello!

Not so long ago, I posted on my Instagram account about my recent food making discovery using our microwave at home. But days before that, I was suffering from bouts of insomnia and my only way of “curing” it is to watch YouTube videos while trying to make myself sleepy. I came upon this video where you can make instant desserts using a microwave, and yes I needed to try that asap! You’ll only be needing a few ingredients to make this quick sweet delight so let’s get started!

What you’ll need:

  • Microwave
  • a mug (one that is microwave safe!)
  • 4 tbsps of flour
  • 4 tbsps of sugar
  • 3 tbsps of cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsps of cooking oil
  • one egg
  • 3 tbsps of milk
  • 3 tbsps of Nutella

With your mug ready in place, put all the ingredients in order as listed above. Once done, make sure to stir everything thoroughly until you get a thick consistency like that of a chocolate ganache.

After mixing all your ingredients, place your mug in the microwave and set it on medium high for about 2 minutes or less or until you see the cake rising from the mug while it is being cooked.

On my second attempt at making this dessert, I added some chopped cashew nuts. After all, you have all the free will to add anything you desire ;p

Et voila! My homemade quick chocolate cake in just 2 minutes!

Perfect for a sweet capping right after a hearty dinner with your family. So give it a try sometime ❤

How To: Make S’mores using your stove top at home!

Hello it’s been awhile!

I had a lot of requests from friends who saw my Instagram post about my indoor s’mores I made at home! I only needed a few ingredients to make this awesome quick sweet trip so let’s get started!

What you’ll need:

  • A stove top
  • Microwave oven
  • Graham crackers
  • Chocolate bars
  • marshmallows
  • metal rods to stick the mallows ( I used forks!)

Lay the Graham crackers on the plate and top it with chocolate bars. Make sure that your chocolate bars are thawed out so you can easily pop them in the oven for a few seconds. Stick your metal rods (or fork) to the mallows and toast them on top of your stove, make sure to give it a good turn once in a while so each side will be toasted. If it caught on fire, just blow on it. :p

Pop your plate of Graham crackers with chocolate on top in the microwave for a few seconds, just to give the chocolates a good melt. Once done, place the toasted mallows on top of each crackers and put another cracker on top of it, sandwiching the chocolate and mallows in between. Here’s what it looks like:

EASY PEASY INDOOR S’MORES! Huzzzah :p

It’s great for family bonding even at the comforts of your home! Who says you can only make s’mores during a Campout? I’d say, I can do it at home with a stove top, too!

An Exciting Subic Trip with Great Friends and The Aristocrat Restaurant!

It’s been awhile since I last wrote 😐

My work has become so demanding  that the only free time I’m allowed to relax is during Sundays, which is sad. I would like to take this chance to thank the lords of the holidays for giving us regular workers of the world a chance to take a break, and because we deserve all of that! Last Labor Day, together with friends from When In Manila, we embarked on a one-day adventure at Subic, Pampanga!

51SubicAdventure

It was a great sunny Labor day morning filled with high hopes and excitement. We all met at The Aristocrat Restaurant at Jupiter Street, Makati City. I was so happy to see them again, it’s like a familiar feeling all over again! And that, my friend, is my cue to stop the mushy talk because it’s getting  jologs, anyway. Our friends from The Aristocrat Restaurant will be providing our meals for the entire day, so that makes an even more exciting trip! Continue reading

I found the perfect bread haven at Harina Artisan Bakery And Cafe!

19HarinaHarina Artisan Bakery Cafe

Let me share you a story. One time, I got lost in the streets of White Plains in Quezon City. For some particular reasons I can’t disclose yet, I kept wandering here and enjoyed the cool summer breeze I’m experiencing that time until I came about in these charming little place called Monsee’s. While facing the homey-styled shop, I told myself that I have to stop staring and go inside – once I did, a sweet appetizing aroma of fresh bread lured me more in. Rows of muffins, breads, cupcakes and a lot more have melted my heart in am instant. I asked the nice waitress to give me a brewed coffee and a chocolate muffin and shortly, I was in bread heaven. I remember telling myself then that someday I’ll be lost in White Plains again and I’ll enjoy another cup of coffee and muffin in Monsee’s – until I got invited by them. A well-known haven for bread connoisseurs has just acquired a new name and this time, Monsee’s is the new Harina Artisan Bakery and Cafe!

Monsee’s has been in White Plains since November 2010 providing excellent service in creating and serving baked products. But then the owners wanted Monsee’s to focus on their institutional business, so they wanted to create a separate retail partner that can cater to their customers serving their top of the line baked goods, and so Harina Artisan Bakery Cafe was born.

Macarons, tea and coffee kind of night at Mrs. Grahams

There are days where I feel really fancy and dainty. My hormones would act up on their own and will cause a triggering factor on my brain that will stimulate my internal feminism. Of course fool, I am a woman. And as a woman, I am capable of world destruction…or world peace.

Nah. I am here to share with you our latest food discovery. The one that tickles our fancy. It feels so good to be here that by just being inside makes you devour all the fanciful little trinkets of foods displayed.

BRGR: The Burger Project opens its newest branch at Scout Rallos, Quezon City!

Burger Project

Truth be told, I haven’t been to any Burger Project branch my whole life..until now! Yay! I’ve always wanted to since I first heard about it. Who wouldn’t want to design their own burger from their liking, right? That totally made a crazy saliva drooling on myself.

BRGR Project

BRGR: The Burger Project currently has 3 branches, and their latest addition to the family can be found at Scout Rallos, Quezon City. Although it’s a long drive away from my home, we went there together with my fellow writer friends. Most of them have tried what Burger Project has to offer so basically, I’m the “newbie” in the group. Continue reading

Vivajosephine moves to WordPress!

Do what makes you happyI made the move, and I think it’s the right one! So far, I’m pretty excited with the switch!

Hello 2014!!! Welcome me with open arms and a big, tight hug!!! Oyeah! As I welcome this year, so as my writing platform. I transferred my blogging site from a free blogging space Blogspot.com ( Wallflower of the Jeepney) to WordPress. I really think I should have done this a long time ago but heck, I’m now here and that’s happy!

Why the switch? Change. For the betterment. And since I’ve been writing for another Manila-based popular site called WhenInManila.com which uses a WP hosting, I got used with it and learned that I could customized better with it.

So what’s it gonna be for Vivajosephine in WordPress?

I don’t know really. More event writeups, maybe? More food articles? Day in the life with Josephine? As random as it gets, the better. But mainly, my site will focus more on food, beauty and lifestyle posts

Also, I would like to customize more with this site. I would love to make it more personal, more ME. Probably when the day goes, I’ll be able to fix this so I hope we’ll both watch out for that

Another thing, I would like to share some of my hauls. I LOVE HAULS!!! So maybe you’ll see some of that in the future!

So the list goes on, I really do hope you’ll carry on with my journey through writing! Have a happy and cheerful 2014 ahead!
